Numb3rs Flashfiction

This Prologue portion of Conflict and Resolutions was originally what I wrote for this challenge weeks ago. My betas said that I couldn't stop here so I didn't. I now have 48 pages of fic spanning the entire fic of Conflict and Resolutions and a companion piece entitled Ash and Pines. I'll be posting both 24 page fic on my LJ, but this original portion I'm posting here ad hoc since it was what I wrote for the challenge. I think it stands alone just fine, but I figure it can't be bad to add almost 50 pages to it. It's just no longer 'flashfic' at that point. ;-)
