He’d just wanted to pull Charlie up from his seat, curl his fingers around Charlie’s arms and make Charlie stop. Stop distracting him; stop looking past him, through him like he isn’t even there, which is every kind of insult when all Colby can see when Charlie is in the room… is Charlie.
Nice way to get to the heart of the matter; I really like the contrast of not-seeing/seeing. Colby certainly does seem fascinated by Charlie in canon. Even the "whiz kid" comment reminds me of that thing that people do in junior high: spoken: "So-and-so is sooooo lame," underneath: secretly crushing all over them.
Lovely stuff. You made Colby not only bearable (I'm not much of a fan of him in the show) but someone I felt for.
