Title: Coffee
Author: ALF
Word Count: 200
Rating: PG
Pairing/Characters: Don, Ian, Gibbs, DiNozzo
Summary: Don and Gibbs have something in common
Disclaimer: Not mine, not for profit
A/N: Got the initial image of Don and Gibbs drinking coffee side-by-side in my head and it wouldn't quit till I wrote it. I have no idea what the rest of this story is. Gen, but could be seen as slash, if you tilt it that way.
Coffee
As Tony DiNozzo and Ian Edgerton stood in the doorway of the diner, it was easy to spot their partners. Jethro Gibbs and Don Eppes sat side by side at the counter, backs to the door. Not that either Tony or Ian believed for a second that the two senior agents weren’t aware of the presence of the other two men behind them. Arms rose and fell in synchrony as they sipped from identical mugs.
“Coffee,” Tony muttered to Ian, who nodded briefly, even though it hadn’t been a question. Catching the gaze of the woman behind the counter, Ian jerked his head towards a table. She came over towards them, pot and mugs in hand, as they settled near the door, where they could watch both it and their partners.
The woman poured for them both, then headed back behind the counter, once they’d assured her they didn’t want anything else. She refilled the cups in front of Don and Gibbs, who seemed to be unaware of her presence.
Unlike them, Tony and Ian both doctored their coffee, adding creamer and sweetener, before drinking. They remained there, watching over their partners until it was time for them to leave.
